Frequently asked questions

Is the quote really free?

Yes. You tell us about the door, it gets measured and priced properly, and you decide in your own time. No charge and no pressure.

How quickly will I hear back?

Fast. The more detail you give in the form (property type, which door, the style and colour you have in mind, photos if you have them), the faster and more accurate the quote.

How much does a composite door cost in Teesside?

Front doors £1,000 to £1,700 fitted, back doors £950 to £1,500, stable doors £1,200 to £1,800, doors with side panels £1,400 to £2,200, French doors £1,500 to £2,400.

How long does fitting take?

A straight door swap takes 2 to 4 hours, side panel combinations about half a day, and French doors half a day to a full day. Doors are made to measure, so expect 2 to 4 weeks from order to fitting.

Are composite doors secure?

Yes: a solid core, multi-point locking and an anti-snap cylinder as standard, with PAS 24 or Secured by Design certification on quality ranges. The cylinder grade should appear by name in any quote.

Do composite doors fade, warp or need painting?

No. The GRP skin is UV-stable, through-coloured and unaffected by moisture, so it never needs painting and will not swell, stick or rot. A wash with soapy water and annual oil on the hinges is the entire maintenance routine.

Do I need planning permission to replace my door?

Almost never. Replacing a door is not development. The exceptions are listed buildings and some conservation areas with specific controls, and the quote will flag it if your address is affected.

What guarantee comes with the door?

Ten years on the door itself is the industry norm, covering the skin, colour and construction, with separate cover on the glazed units and hardware. Get the terms in writing before you commit.
